Fiona Cullen is in the business of clearing hurdles, literally. In season 2005-2006 she came 5th in the Final of the 100m Hurdles at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games and was also part of the 4x100m relay squad that won a bronze medal. Fiona was also the 2005 Australian Champion for the 100m hurdles and has been at the forefront of Australian Sprint Hurdling since 2002.
Fiona is a 100% product of school sport developing her talent for hurdling at high school. She further laid the foundations for her senior athletics career through participating in university sport but it wasn't until 1999 that Fiona began training under the watchful eye of professional coach, Eric Brown.
Fiona is currently training towards selection in the World Championships in Track and Field to be held in August 2007 in Osaka, Japan. This meet is a significant stepping stone towards the realisation of Fiona's Olympic dream of being selected to compete in Beijing 2008.
Fiona is a member of QEII Track club and is the Media and Fundraising Coordinator on the committee as well as the Chairperson of the Fundraising Sub-Committee. If you are seeking coaching or would like to enquire about joining QEII Track Club visit www.qe2trackclub.com for more information.
